Electroplating Machines for Home and Professionals

Electroplating machines

electroplating machines and processElectroplating or Galvanisation is a process of depositing a thin layer of metal onto a metal object using an electroplating machines. Electroplating can be performed for various purposes e.g. to prevent corrosion and oxidation of a particular surface, or to protect from wear and to increase the surface hardness. If a layer of precious metal is plated onto a piece of jewellery then it can create a more esthetic and expensive look. The metal plating can be gold, silver, rhodium, or any other metal depending on the desired outcome.

The electroplating process involves immersing the metal object to be plated, called the “workpiece,” into a solution containing ions of the metal to be plated. The workpiece is connected to the negative terminal of a DC power source, and a piece of the covering metal called the “anode,” is connected to the positive terminal. When the power is turned on, the metal ions in the solution are attracted to the workpiece and deposited on its surface, forming a thin layer of the plated metal.

Gold plating is a popular form of electroplating, commonly used in the jewelry industry to give a piece of jewelry a luxurious, high-end look. Silver plating is also commonly used, especially in the production of silverware and decorative objects.

Rhodium plating is another popular form of electroplating. Rhodium is a rare and expensive metal that is known for its durability and resistance to tarnishing. It is often used to coat jewelry and other decorative objects to enhance their shine and protect them from wear and tear.

Professional electroplating machines and services are available, but home electroplating machines and kits are also available for those who want to try electroplating at home. These kits typically include an electroplating machine as a power source, and the necessary accessories for plating. However, it is important to note that electroplating can be a dangerous process, and proper safety precautions must be taken.

All our electroplating machines and their accessories have been designed and handmade by us. We test them for quality and working condition before dispatching them to our customers.
